Sarwat Nawaz has a postgraduate degree in Business Administration, Banking and Finance, and was accredited by CEDR in 2006. She also possesses the International Capital Markets Qualification (ICMQ) and is currently associated with the Faculty of Management Sciences at the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute (SZABIST) and Griffith College Dublin, Karachi Campus.

During her Banking career, Sarwat has assisted the operations of several foreign banks in Pakistan, which include the Standard Chartered Bank, the Credit Agricole Indosuez Bank, and the ANZ Grindlays Bank.
