Mr. Adnan Mufti
FCA
Adnan Mufti is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and an Associate Member of Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants (PIPFA). Along with being a CEDR Accredited Mediator, Adnan is also a Panel Member of Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee (ADRC), constituted by Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Governmernt of Pakistan (Sales Tax Act 1990 and Federal Excise Act 2005).


At present, Adnan is serving as Lead Partner for Indirect Tax Practice in Shekha & Mufti, Chartered Accountants - an independent member firm of Moore Stephens International Limited having members in principal cities throughout the world. Prior to public practice, Adnan served at Senior Position in KPMG Taseer Hadi & Co., Chartered Accountants.

Adnan has been actively involved in tax advisory and counselling over indirect taxation and represented various corporates before FBR, Tax Appellate Forums and ADRCs constituted by FBR for settlement of tax disputes. In the past, he has also supervised the field part of Sales Tax Reforms & Administration Project outlined by the Tax Reforms Committee constituted by the Government of Pakistan in the year 1999-2000.

Adnan regularly contributes technical papers / articles for leading professional / legal journals and newspapers like “Business Recorder”, TAXATION, TAX FORUM and official journals of ICAP and ICMAP. One of Adnan’s papers has also been included in ‘Law & Practice of Sales Tax’, a book by Huzaima Bukhari and Dr. Ikramul Haq.

Adnan has addressed various seminars / workshops organised by ICAP, KPMG, Income Tax Bar Association, Professional Accountants’ Forum, Institute of Corporate Secretaries of Pakistan, Dewan Group of Companies, ACE Consultants, etc. Further, he is a regular participant in national conferences / seminars on corporate and tax laws. In the past, he has also participated in VAT Training Session organised by Asia Pacific Region of KPMG in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Adnan is Chairman, Technical & Research Committee of Karachi Sales Tax Bar Association. He is also a Member, Sales Tax Committee of Income Tax Bar Association, Karachi and Member, Publication Committee, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. He is also a Member of Karachi Gymkhana, Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi and COMMECS - old boys association of Government College of Commerce & Economics, Karachi.
