The Asia Pacific Regional Arbitration Group (APRAG) has approved Karachi Centre for Dispute Resolution’s (KCDR) membership application.
APRAG is a regional group of alternate dispute resolution (ADR) bodies in the Asia and Pacific region and currently has 19 members. The Group endeavours to promote arbitration and its understanding in the region. KCDR is a not-for-profit registered society in Karachi and has been providing mediation facilities to business and individual clients who wish to resolve disputes through mediation. Established in 2007 by International Finance Corporation (IFC) and approved by High Court of Sindh, KCDR is the first facility of its kind in Pakistan which provides commercial mediation services. KCDR has the potential to grow and provide its mediation services to clients in Pakistan and beyond. Foreign and domestic businesses can feel secure in doing business in Pakistan as in an event of a dispute, KCDR can provide them independent foreign accredited mediators who can then mediate a case. KCDR’s achievements and contribution to the ADR practices in Karachi is promoting it among foreign ADR establishments.
