Karachi Centre for Dispute Resolution (KCDR) started operations in Karachi, in February 2007. The Centre, first of its kind in Pakistan, follows international standard rules and code of ethics governing mediation proceedings.
The Karachi Centre for Dispute Resolution is offering Mediation as an institutionalized alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanism. This option is available to the parties whose Commercial cases are either pending before the High Court of Sindh/Civil Courts of Karachi, or who have not yet filed a case in the Court.
KCDR has been established with the assistance and support of the High Court of Sindh and the International Finance Corporation/World Bank Group. It is registered as a Not-for-Profit Society under the Societies Registration Act of Pakistan (XXI of 1860).

Workshop for Judges of Sindh Held at National Law University, Karachi
Karachi Centre for Dispute Resolution (KCDR) and Access to Justice Program (AJP) held a workshop for Judges serving as civil, family, senior civil judges and judicial magistrates in Karachi and rest of the Sindh Province. The workshop is a joint KCDR, IFC and AJP initiative with the purpose of enhancing understanding and application of mediation as an Alternate Dispute Resolution mechanism. The 6 days workshop ended on 30th June 2008 and had financial support from ADB and Ministry of Law’s Access to Justice Programme. |

KCDR and IFC Concludes 2-Day Training on Conflict Resolution
Karachi Centre for Dispute Resolution (KCDR) in collaboration with International Finance Corporation (IFC), private sector arm of World Bank Group, successfully delivered a 2 day course on “Conflict Resolution” at Sheraton Hotel, Karachi on 6th and 7th June 2008.
